Show 06 - Eric Clapton - I’m checking out the long and illustrious career of Eric Clapton. In fact I am spreading his story over this week’s and next week’s episode. After starting out in a bunch of local bands sixty years ago in 1963 Eric became part of a trio of ace guitarists who spent time in the Yardbirds, along with Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and the recently departed Jeff Beck.

Show 05 - Bo Diddley - aka Elias Bates McDaniel was born in Mississippi in December 1928, but was adopted and then moved with his adoptive mother to the South Side of Chicago in 1934. His music chops started in his local Baptist church where he became proficient on the violin.

Show 04 - Slim Harpo - was an American blues musician, a leading exponent of the swamp blues style, and "one of the most commercially successful blues artists of his day".He played guitar and was a master of the blues harmonica, known in blues circles as a "harp". His most successful and influential recordings included "I'm a King Bee" (1957), "Rainin' in My Heart" (1961), and "Baby Scratch My Back" (1966), which reached number one on Billboard.

Show 239 - Diving deep into the band that Muddy Waters formed in 1946 not long after he arrived in Chicago. Leonard and Phil Chess started out with a label called Aristocrat. Muddy surrounded himself with the cream of the crop. It wasn’t long before some of these sideman recorded their own songs once their session with Muddy had been completed. So today the music of Jimmy Rogers, Otis Spann, Little Walter, Junior Wells, Bob Margolin, Buddy Guy, James Cotton and bass player Willie Dixon.
