On Monday (March 18) the second-annual Neurodiversity Celebration Week kicks off with a Whacky Hat Day championing the unique talents and perspectives of neurodiverse individuals across Aotearoa.
The awareness week celebrated globally aims to breakdown stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding neurological differences aiming to support, include and empower every individual to thrive. Donations made from the Whacky Hat Day will go towards sponsoring teacher training in Neurodiversity across Aotearoa.
“Approximately 40 percent of the workforce may possess Neurodiverse traits, with many individuals unaware of it,” says Natasya Jones, co-founder of DivergenThinking.
