Compassion, curiosity and Sickle cell disease

Published: 28/9/2025 10:00 a.m.

A short and sweet episode infused with beauty and wisdom. Lydian shares her journey into Sickle Cell research—an often underfunded area of medical care that largely impacts people from countries across sub-Saharan Africa. Although Lydian is from the Netherlands, where Sickle Cell is much less common, her experiences learning from patients with roots in the Global South deeply influenced her pursuit of knowledge in this field. Lydian was a beautiful human to sit with—oozing love, connection, and warmth. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing space with her, and I know anyone listening will feel this too.
